20 Apr 2014: We had a fun Spring Carnival...6 months till Fall Festival 30 Sep--4 Oct! Stay tuned for announcements.
We would like to thank all our volunteers, supporters and guests for a wonderful first Spring Carnival. All said they had a good time...in spite of all the bad weather! We look forward to having another in the spring of 2015.
Now we take a breather...and then we start getting ready for the 30 Sep-4 Oct Fall Festival. It should be bigger and better...and of course a lot of fun. Let us know how you would like to get involved!
Spring is in the air and as the bees are busy preparing our flowers…just as busy as the volunteers of the Autauga County Fair(ACF). They are getting ready for a brand new Spring Carnival to be held April 15-19, 2014 at Mac Gray Park in Prattville. The fairground grass is cut, the stage is swept and the carnival rides, games and entertainment are on their way here to bring Autauga County their first Spring Carnival. “After a long, coldwinter, people are ready to get outside and have fun,” exclaimed Mike Surles, the ACF Organization Vice President.
James Gang Amusements will be the Midway Carnival Provider. It has been a few years but this isn’t their first visit to the fairgrounds in Autauga County. They bring a wide variety of fun carnival rides, games of skill and chance as well as delicious food items that are requirement for any fair. Arm bands will be $18 with discounts on Tuesday and Wednesday nights and Saturday afternoon matinee for only $15.
“We are also bringing back the Music Festival,” stated ACF Organization President, Gary Essary. “It was a part of our Fall Festival that many people enjoyed, so we will continue to bring local and regional talent to our stage,” stated Essary. Last fall, a local artist named Jessica Meuse entertained Autauga County Fairgoers and now she is entertaining America as a finalist on the hit TV show, American Idol.
Animal lovers will enjoy the wide variety of farm and exotic animals the Tennessee Valley Petting Zoo will bring. “Make sure you say hello to the camel, Buford,” stated owner Darrell Blankenship. “He’s kind of a diva and loves it when people pay attention to him,” he explained. There will also be a baby wallaby and giant tortoises along with a wide variety of farm animals on display.
Wednesday is Community Night and the entrance fee will be unique. The “We Feed Wednesday” is a can food drive planned and organized by Prattville High School JROTC Cadet Alex Mote. “We are collecting
non-perishable food items on Wednesday instead of the $3 entrance fee,” he explained. “All food items will then be delivered to the Autauga Interfaith Care Center for distribution to needy families in Autauga County,” said the high school sophomore.
If you’re ready to get rid of those winter time blues with some spring time fun, make plans to visit the fair. “We need everyone to do their anti-R-A-I-N dance for this week,” asked Essary. He reminds all to get the latest information about the fair, prices, times and discounts on the website: www.AutaugaCountyFair.com.
James Gang Amusements is back in Autauga County as our Midway entertainment for our Spring Carnival this year. They will be providing carnival ride fun, games, food and special deals during the April 15th-19th event. Check out the Spring Carnival page for the special armband pricing and discount coupon days on Tuesday and Wednesday of Spring Carnival.
Autauga County Fair Organization is proud to announce the new Midway provider for the 2014 Fall Festival will be Trinity Amusements from Odenville, AL. Congratulations and we look forward to working with Russel Jackson and crew to provide another fun family event to our residents on 30 Sep through 4 Oct 2014.
